The Very Busy Butterfly

KIDS!! Channel 11 is having a contest and you and your friends can become TV stars! So get together your butterfly collection and enter today!

  Get prepared!! Work with your teacher to find information about butterflies on the Internet. Observe live butterflies, cocoons, and caterpillars in the classroom. Using this information, your group will design one poster showing the body parts of a butterfly and one poster showing the life cycle of a butterfly. Choose a host for your TV show (someone who will not have “butterflies in his/her stomach” Click To Preview when on camera!) Then LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!!

The Process

 
For each butterfly team, there will be several assignments. 

Using the computer, the computer information tech and other team members find information and pictures of the caterpillar’s anatomy (body)

Using a computer, the computer information tech and other team members find information and pictures of the butterfly’s life cycle

The announcer and other team members will present an oral report about the body of the caterpillar

The announcer and other team members will present an oral report about the life cycle of the butterfly

The artist and other team members will use information and pictures gathered to create a poster board

Announcer:

(the person who will give the oral report)

Artist:

(the person who will layout the poster design)

Script Writer:

(the person who will write the report for the announcer)

Computer Information Tech

(the person who finds the information and pictures needed)

Manager:

(the person who makes sure everyone is hard at work and offers help when needed)
