Story Telling
The Mission
Do
you think you are a good listener? The Chicago Public Library is very
concerned that some children are not good listeners.
They have asked me, your teacher, to help you become good
listeners. You have three jobs. The first
job is to listen to stories during Story
Telling Time. Second, you will listen to stories from books on
tapes. Thirdly, you will listen to stories on the
Internet. Can you do the
activities to show how well you can listen?
The Process
1. Every other day you will listen to a story.
2. You will answer questions about the story.
3. Then you will draw any picture that you imagine/remember from the story.
4. You will retell/write a short summary of the story.
5. In a group you will present a story to the class form a story that I told you.
6. Lastly, you will create a story of your own to present to the class.
