Project Description

Many communities are in need of beautification.  Students need to get more involved in cleaning up and maintaining their communities.   This unit will support efforts to promote the beautification of neighborhoods.

This project is a landscaping assignment; which requires the use of real-world math skills (measurement, conversion, etc).  Students will integrate real-life situations in math by creating a landscape of their own.  Students will be asked to form teams to create a landscape which includes grass, shrubbery, drainage and watering methods flowers or other beautification additions.

Finally, students will present their scale models and be able to explain their thinking and reasoning behind each landscape design
