Violence has many faces in our schools today. There is bullying, name calling, teasing, intimidation, manipulation and just plain old fighting. The source of much of this damaging behavior is a lack of personal inner strength and the inability of our children to make wise and safe choices. Using the Secret of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman, as a jumping off point, the students will begin a journey of self- discovery and in the process find the power of their own imagination and inner strength. Through hands on art activities, role-playing, music and technology, the students will create raps and short skits that demonstrate their understanding of the story. |
