The Mission |

| Task: Mrs. Haney,
a television producer, has been given the task of
creating a mini-series for Black History Month. She has
hired you, as part of a team of researchers and writers,
to create a program on a famous African-American
inventor. Your team has a deadline of two months to be
ready to tape your program.

The Process |

· First, youll be assigned to
a team of 2 students. · Next, you'll
draw a name out of the jar to see which inventor you will
research. · You will then
draw cards to see who does the research using the
multimedia encyclopedia and who will use the Internet
resources. · You will want to copy the facts that you believe are important for your project to your disk. Be sure to include the following information: Date of birth, Education, Work experience, Invention or inventions, Why the invention(s) was important, How the invention(s) affects your life, and What life would be like without the invention(s), and Date of death. · After you have
all your facts, you will need to print them. You
will use this "hard copy" to organize your
facts and begin writing your script. Remember that
a script has to be written like a play. · Type your
script on the computer. Be sure to use the spell
checker to find all spelling mistakes. · When you
finish typing your script, save it to your disk, and turn
your disk in to Mrs. Haney. · You will have
to decide whether to draw pictures, find pictures, or
create a model of the invention(s). · Then you
will make a list of the supplies you need and discuss the
list with the teacher. · Make sure your props, pictures, models, and costumes (if you want them) are ready so that you can videotape your program by the deadline. |
