Week I
1. Use Inspiration to brainstorm different ways that individuals learn. 2. View the Schoolhouse Rock series and determine how many concepts you are able to retain using the lyrics. 3. Team members will select a subject area to write lyrics to teach a concept. 4. Determine which concept in your subject area that you would like to focus. 5. Using the information that you have previously discussed, write lyrics that will teach your concept.
Week II
1. Have another team view your project and offer positive comments/ suggestions. 2. Make necessary revisions. 3. Work with your teammates to determine the music style to which you will set your lyrics. Note: You may use a rap or elect to use an old familiar song. 4. Set your lyrics to music and use a tape player to record. 5. Create a PowerPoint presentation that depicts some of the features of your “skill song”.
Week III
1. Teams will stage rehearsal sessions for class presentations. 2. Teams will perform their presentation for the class. 3. Teams will video tape each performance. 4. Students will observe and critique the presentations using the predetermined rubric. 5. Hollywood contracts will be negotiated and signed as team members make their way to stardom!! Because as you know, somewhere in this universe “A Star” is always born…..we decided to make Marconi a birthing place.
