WOMEN TODAY AND YESTERDAY

The Mission

Mrs. Neely, our principal is quite busy these days.  She attends lots of meetings, work with students, parents and business partners. She really wants our school to be successful.

Running a school is not an easy task.  There is a lot to do but never enough hours in the day.  Mrs. Neely has asked our class to assist her for the month of March as we celebrate Women’s History Month.

Your task is to research information about African American Women and give a presentation over the intercom system. This information will inform students and staff of the many contributions African American Women have made in order to shape our country.

Process

Week One

1. The class is divided into four groups of four.

2. Each group will brainstorm ideas and suggestions of African American Women to include in the project.

3. You will select a name out of a box and this is the person you are to report on.

Week Two

1.  The whole group will collaborate to decide what specific information must be included in the report and formulate a checklist.
