An American Road Trip - Assessment Page

You now have to present your vacation to the class using a presentation software, such as PowerPoint, KidPix, Astound, or HyperStudio, or create visual displays.  Your projects visual displays, including the travelogue, will be graded using the following scoring guide.

Student demonstrates full knowledge (more than required) with explanations and elaboration.

Student is at ease with content, but fails to elaborate. Includes essential information.  

Student is uncomfortable with information. Some subject knowledge is evident, however it is confusing.  

Student does not have grasp of information; student cannot answer questions about subject.

 

Mechanics

Presentation has no misspellings or grammatical errors.

Presentation has 3 or fewer misspellings or grammatical errors.

Presentation has 4 misspellings or grammatical errors.

Presentation has 5 or more misspellings and grammatical errors.

 

Oral Presentation

Highly organized and well rehearsed.  Very smooth in delivery.

Interesting and in logical order.  A fluid delivery was used.

Spoke clearly and understandably. Used appropriate language, but limited in delivery.

No logical sequence of events.

 

Product

Product is very creative. Many pictures were added. Captions are appropriate and describe the pictures.

 Product is very creative. Many pictures were added and the design is pleasing. 

Product is somewhat creative. Few pictures were added and the design is somewhat confusing.

 Product is not creative. No pictures were added and the design looks confusing

 

Originality

Product shows a large amount of original thought.  Ideas are creative and inventive.

Product shows some original thought.  Work shows new ideas and insights.

Uses a large collection of other peoples ideas.  There is no new thought.

Work is minimal collection of other peoples ideas. Little effort apparent.

 

Teamwork

The workload was divided and shared equally by all team members.

Most team members contributed their fair share of the workload.

The workload amounts varied between a few members.
