Quilt Skyline

The Mission:

The Mayor of North Miami, Florida has asked you and your classmates to design and create a quilt of a city skyline to hang up in City Hall.

In order to create the quilt, you and your classmates will have to learn about different geometric shapes/patterns and observe a city skyline.  You will take your illustrations of the city skyline and place them in a pattern that will form one piece of the quilt.

You will know you have been successful when your quilt showing a city skyline with geometric shapes and patterns is hung up in City Hall.

The Process:

You will be working in cooperative groups with classmates. Ms.Ariyan will assign you to a specific group. Everyone in the group will have specific roles.

Each group will observe different skylines by searching the Internet and by looking at books and posters.  In your group you will individually design a skyline using various shapes on construction paper.  You will use colored pencils or crayons to color your individual quilt.  You will present your quilt as a group to the Mayor of City Hall.
