Task:

Have you ever bought something and felt that you’ve been cheated and did not get your money’s worth?

Your task is to find out if what you bought was actually a good buy.

Where would you look to find out information about what you bought? (Newspapers, Magazines, The Internet-product information, comparisons, Amazon.com, E-bay.com)

Look for price, quality, and comparisons.

How did you decide that this was a good decision?

Process:

1.  Decide what you are going to purchase – an appliance, an entertainment or electronic item.  Decide what features you the product to have.

2.  Go to various stores and do comparison-shopping.  Get a look and feel as to what you want to buy.  Make sure to write down all prices and model numbers.

3.  Go to various internet sites and also do comparison-shopping.

4.  Check various sources to check on the products reliability.  (Internet, Newspapers, Magazines-Consumer’s Report)

5.     Make a check and compare list so that you can check all the data that you have collected.
