Training Approaches

C.A.S.T.L.E. Technology Consultants, Inc. offers a series of workshops under the umbrella title, “Engaged Learning.”  The goal of this workshop series will be to develop a component teacher who can successfully utilize learning technologies to assist Illinois learners to become life-long learners.  These learners will be able to solve problems, to communicate clearly, to make informed decisions, and to construct new knowledge.

In the “Engaged Learning” series, the participants will produced a technology-infused learning experience (TILE).  This learning experience will incorporate the principals of engaged learning as outlined by NCREL and will include a technology component; a technology component that utilizes the technology as a tool for student learning

The “Engaged Learning” series was offered as a 2-day workshop for all participanting grant schools.  Each grant school then had the opportunity to extend the series into a 3-day or 5-day series or to customize the series to meet their needs. No matter what series a school chose, they also could choose a technology strand or a combination of strands.
